8 Channels is the new found monikor of House stalwart Jay Tripwire with the name finding birth with his first release on Cinematic called “True Story EP”. Since then he has inundated the industry with highly acclaimed projects and created a fusion of basic channel,soul and dub into a new hybrid of techno deep house and dub soundscapes that have been winning over label A+R’s,critics and the top djs alike,and have appeared on highly regarded labels such as Pokerflat,Ransom Note, NRK, Halucination and many many more.
Having performed in over 200 cities around the globe and with thousands upon thousands of nights behind the decks Jay has performed at every type of nightclub, warehouse party, illegal street party,radio station and lounge and is a veteran dj of the circuit.
His signature fusion of Detroit textures and intricate rhythms has pushed him “ahead of everyone else,” according to DJ magazine.
His most recent endeavor is a coveted residency at Vancouver’s new superclub “Fortune Sound Club” where Jay is a resident dj on a Funktion 1 sound sytem playing to
a packed house. Acting also as the club’s musical director, Jay is bringing his ear and experience to lend a hand fueing the musical vision shared by him and club owner Rob Rizk. Creating a utopia for his vision and sound.
With a career spanning over the last 2 decades Jay Tripwire as a producer has sold over 250,000 vinyl records,he has produced 4 full length albums
and has produced over 200 releases and remixes that have appeared on the most regarded labels in the industry.
